GRACY, Alma L. 93, of New Carlisle, Ohio, passed away Sunday, May 25, 2014.
She was born January 6, 1921 in Clark County, Ohio, the daughter of the late Harry and Ada (Hoke) Steele.
She attended and graduated from North Hampton High School in 1938.
She was a lifelong member of the Missionary Church, where she was an active member, teaching Sunday school and children's church. She was a retired cook after serving 17 years at Northwestern local schools.
She is survived by two sons, Dail and Carolyn Gracy, Dwain Gracy; daughter, Elaine and Randy Scott; six grandchildren, Janelle (Scott) Rinehart, Bridget (David) Brown, Valerie (Jason) Ryder, Hillary (Jordan) Justice, William Scott and Tyler Scott; great grandchildren, Zachery Rinehart, Darcie and Dawson Brown, Bayleigh and Beau Ryder, and Jamison Justice; a brother, Wilbert Steele; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, William E. Gracy; five brothers, Howard, Arthur, Harold, Harley and J.A. Steele; a sister, Thelma Streber.
A gathering of family and friends will be 6-8 pm Monday, June 2, 2014 at the Bethel Baptist Church, 6370 New Carlisle Pike, Springfield, Ohio 45504.
Funeral services will be 10 am Tuesday at the TROSTEL, CHAPMAN, DUNBAR & FRALEY FUNERAL HOME, New Carlisle, Ohio with a visitation one hour prior in the funeral home.
Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the American Cancer society.
