Scieszinski, 87, Dies Here Sunday

Joseph P. Scieszinski, 87, of Albia died Sunday morning at Monroe County Hospital. He had been ill several months.

Scieszinski farmed in the Melrose area all his life until he retired and moved to Albia in 1958.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret, in 1958, a son, Paul, in 1955; and an infant daughter* in 1916.

He is survived by three daughters, Mrs. Ed McGrath of Albia, Mrs. W.F. Feehan of East Moline and Mrs. Bernard Kitterman of Albia; three sons, Pat Scieszinski of Webster City, and Leo and Tom Scieszinski of Melrose; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; two brothers; and two sisters.

The funeral will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Albia with pastor, the Rev. Father L. Heinen, officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary cemetery at Melrose. The rosary will be recited tonight at 7:30 at Humeston Funeral Home.
