William S. Scieszinski Dies at Melrose
William S. Scieszinski, 83, a retired farmer, died Friday afternoon at his home 3-1/2 miles north of Melrose following a heart attack. Scieszinski became ill a few hours after returning to his home from Albia.
Scieszinski was a life-long resident of the Melrose area. The son of Anastasia and Mary Ciskey Scieszinski, he was born June 5, 1879.
His wife, the former Theresa Fitzgerald, died in October, 1957. His was also preceded in death by a daughter, Teresa, and a son, Francis.
Surviving are three sons; Maurice of Melrose, and Michael and William of Jamesville, Wis.; five daughters, Miss Mary Scieszinski at home Mrs. James McCarty of near Albia, Mrs. Edmund Roach of Russell, and Miss Grace Scieszinski and Miss Helen Scieszinski both of Des Moines; a nephew, John A. Scieszinski of Janesville, Wis., who was raised in the home, two sisters, Mrs. Anna Bogaerts and Mrs. Kathryn LaMar, both of Ottumwa; thr

The funeral was this morning at 11 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Melrose with the Rev. Father J. J. Morrissey officiating. Burial was in Mount Calvary cemetery at Melrose.
