Funeral Notes
Patrick Scieszinski

Patrick J. Scieszinski, 84, Webster City, died Friday afternoon, Nov. 3, at the Hamilton County Hospital in Webster City, following a sudden illness. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 7, at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Rev. Carl A. Ries officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Melrose. A scripture service will be held at 8 p.m. tonight at the Foster Funeral Home. Visitation at Foster's will be until 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Patrick Joseph Scieszinski, son of Joseph and Margaret O'Brien Scieszinski, was born Sept. 3, 1905, in Melrose, where he graduated from high school in 1924. He attended Chillicothe Business College in Chillicothe, Mo., and was later employed by the Chicago Northwestern Railroad in Gifford, and other cities in northern Iowa and Minnesota.

He married Mary Donahue on Nov. 3, 1937, in Dougherty. The couple resided there, where Mr. Scieszinski continued to work for the railroad. In 1953, the couple moved to Webster City, where Mr. Scieszinski was an agent - telegrapher until his retirement in 1970. Following his retirement, he was employed as bailiff for the Hamilton County Courthouse for 10 years.

He is survived by his wife, Mary, Webster City; one daughter, Sister Mary Louise P.B. V. M., Cedar Falls; two sons, Joseph Patrick Scieszinski, Webster City, and James Leo Scieszinski, Simi Valley, Calif.; two brothers and two sisters, Thomas Scieszinski, Melrose, and Leo Scieszinski, Marie McGrath and Kathryn Kitterman, all of Albia. He was preceded in death by two daughters, his parents, a brother and two sisters.

Mr. Scieszinski was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, the Telegrapher’s Union, and was a former member of the Webster City Elks.
