Mrs. Scieszinski, 78, Dies

Melrose - Mrs. Margaret Scieszinski, 78, died early today at Monroe hospital, Albia.

Funeral rites will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic church here, conducted by the Rev. J.J. Morrissey, pastor, and burial will be in Mt. Calvary cemetery.

The body is at Humeston Funeral Home, Albia, where the Rosary will be recited Tuesday evening.

The daughter of Patrick and Kathryn O'Brien, Mrs. Scieszinski was born near Georgetown Nov. 2, 1879. Her marriage to Joseph P. Scieszinski took place Oct. 14, 1902, and they established residence on a farm five miles north of Melrose. She had been in the hospital since suffering a stroke Jan. 13.

Mrs. Scieszinski is survived by her husband; three daughters, Mrs. Ed McGrath of Melrose, Mrs. William Feehan of East Moline, ILL., and Mrs. Bernard Kitterman of Albia; three sons, Tom and Leo Scieszinski, both of Melrose, and Patrick Scieszinski of Webster City; two sisters, Mrs. Kathryn Falvey of Albia and Mrs. Janie Carr of Ottumwa; and 17 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Paul, who died in 1955; a daughter, Margaret, who died in infancy; six brothers and two sisters.
