Kathryn M. Kitterman

Kathryn M. Kitterman, 80, of Ottumwa and formerly of Albia, died Saturday, Aug. 27, 1994, at Ridgewood Care Center in Ottumwa. Services were held 10:30 Tuesday at St. Mary's Church in Albia, the Rev. Mark Swanson officiating. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery in Albia.

She was born Dec. 14, 1913, in Melrose to Joseph P. and Margaret O'Brien Sciezsinski. She married John Bernard Kitterman July 20, 1940, in Melrose. He died Oct. 3, 1981. She had lived all her life in the Melrose and Albia area. She had lived at the Ridgewood Care Center the past two years. She was a member of St. Mary's Church in Albia and the Altar and Rosary Society. She had owned and operated the Kitterman Grocery until her retirement.

She is survived by a daughter, Kay Brees of Ottumwa; three granddaughters; a great-grandson; two brothers, Tom of Melrose and Leo of Albia; and a sister, Marie McGrath of Albia.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers and two sisters.

Gilbert Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
