She was first joined in union to Cecil William Banks, Sr. on November 8 1930 age the age of 25. To this union she had three children: Lewis 'Tag' W. Banks (1922-1984), Cecil Banks, Jr. (1924-2010), and Betty M. Banks Ramer (1926-2008).
She then divorced Mr. Banks and was living with her parents as evidence of the 1940 federal Census. She was then married to Guy O. Babcoke. They later divorced.
She died February 15th, 1973 at 10:15 a.m. at Dukes Hospital, Peru, Indiana from a Cerebral Hemorrhage she suffered 2 days prior to her death. She had been ill two years prior to her death. Her death certificate lists her last name as Banks, but she is buried net to her second husband under the name Babcoke.
She was a loving mother, sister, and friend. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Vermont Ramer of Peru; two sons, Cecil Banks, Jr., of Peru, and Lewis Banks of Rt. 1, Peru; four brothers, Darrell, Arthur and James Townsend all of Peru, and Harry Townsend, of Reno, Nevada; three sisters, Mrs. Glen Sutton and Mrs. Leonard Copeland, both of Peru, and Mrs. William Bell of Missouri; seven grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 1: 30 p.m. Saturday at Flowers-leedy Funeral Home. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2 p.m. She is buried at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Peru, Indiana with her second husband.
