Arthur A. Townsend of 656 Jefferson Avenue, Peru, Indiana died at the age of 75 years of age at Dukes Memorial Hospital. he died from cardiopulmonary arrest secondary to congestive heart failure which was brought on by probable myocardial infarction (heart attack). He also had history of peripheral vascular disease and chronic UTI.

He was born August 4, 1912 in Peru to Charles M. and Rosetta Chambers Townsend. He had nine brothers and sisters: William Dewey Townsend (1898-1965), Harry Edward Townsend (1900-1977), Mabel M. Townsend Bell (1903-?), Lola Townsend Banks Babcoke (1905-1973), Erba May Townsend Copeland (1907-1985), James Franklin Townsend (1910-1993), Amy E. Townsend Sutton (1915-1995), and Darrell K. Townsend 1917-1997.

He lived all his life in Peru and need married. He was dedicated to his family and was a loving son and brother.

Surviving are two brothers at the time of his death: James and Darrell, both of Peru; and one sister, Amy Sutton, of Peru.

Services will be at 2:00 pm Friday at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, The Rev. George McCarty Officiating. Burial will be a Shrock Cemetery, Miami County.
