Lena Maria Jacobson Obit...

Lena M Jacobson, age 75, a longtime resident of Wolf Lake, passed away Thursday, May 5, 1977 at St Joseph's Hospital in Park Rapids, MN.

She was a daughter of Peter and Hilma Koskela, born May 17, 1901 in Spruce Grove Township, MN.

She grew up in the Spruce Grove area. On October 23, 1926 Lena was united in marriage to Orin W Jacobson. After their marriage, they made their home in Green Valley Township for a number of years. Then they moved to the West Coast to live the following four years and returned to Green Valley Township. In the year 1952, they moved to the Wolf Lake area to make their home. Her husband, Orin, one daughter, Lucille, and two granddaughters preceded her in death.

Mrs Jacobson was a kind and devoted mother and grandmother and was a highly respected lady.

Survivors include her children; Alice, Mrs Wayne Morlan of Springfield, MO; Chesley Jacobson of Buhl, MN; Katherine, Mrs Wayne Schumacher of Cohasset, MN; Arlene Jampsa of St Paul, MN; Morris Jacobson of Wolf Lake, MN; Claire, Mrs Maynard Tinquist of Cohasset, MN and George Jacobson of Kinney, MN; 22 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; sisters, Lydia, Mrs Eli Makinen and Hilda, Mrs. Hans Aho of Wolf Lake, MN; brothers Carl and Ed Koskela of Wolf Lake, MN; nephews and nieces; other distant relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 7, 1977 at 1:30PM at the Spruce Grove Apostolic Lutheran Church, Spruce Grove Township with the Rev George Wilson officiating. Hymns were sung by Mrs Bayard Carlson accompanied by Mrs Romaine Foss on the organ. The pallbearers were: Wilbert Karanen, Howard Haataja, Vernon Kimball, Wesley Ylitalo, Hugo Kangas and Dennis Komulainen.

Interment was at the Koskela Cemetery, Wolf Lake, MN
