Carl H. Koskela, age 74 of Menahga, MN, passed away Tuesday, September 1, 1981 at the Green Pine Acres Nursing Home, Menahga, MN.
Carl was born on December 19, 1906 at Wolf Lake, MN to parents Peter and Hilma Koskela.
On November 1, 1930, he married the former Effie Heikkinen at Menahga, MN. After their marriage, they lived in the wolf Lake area for 48 years. They moved to Menahga in 1979 and have resided there since.
Carl was a member of the Apostolic Lutheran Church. He worked all his life farming and, in earlier years, in pulp wood and lumber. He will be missed by all that knew him.
Two brothers and three sisters preceded him in death.
Besides his wife Effie; he leaves daughter Mrs. Clayton (Doris) Sandberg of Chetek, WI and son Kenneth of North Branch, MN; seven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; sisters Mrs. Carl (Hilda) Haataja and Mrs. John (Esther) Keranen of Menahga, MN and Mrs. Hans (Miriam) Aho of Wolf Lake, MN; numerous nephews and nieces; brothers and sisters in faith; other distant relatives and a large circle of friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, September 4, 1981 at 1:00 P.M. at the Apostolic Lutheran Church, Wof Lake, MN with Rev. Peter Nevala officiating. Music was provided by Sheila Keranen. The pallbearers were Morris Jacobson, Raymond Ylitalo, Howard Haataja, Reino Makinen, Wilbert Keranen and Jeff Koskela. Interment was at the koskela Cemetery, Wolf Lake, MN. Arrangements were with the Cardini Funeral Home, Menahga, MN.
