Last rites were held Sunday at the Wolf Lake Apostolic Lutheran church for Emil Koskela, 59, who died the previous Wednesday at St. Joseph's hospital in Park Rapids. Burial was at the Koskela family cemetery. Officiating at the 1:30 p.m. rites were Rev. Henry Alajoka and Rev. R. E. Anderson. Music was by G. H. Haataja and Matt Kumma, singing hymns, and Mrs. Enoch Anderson, who sang in both English and Finnish.

Mr. Koskela was born July 22, 1892 in Spruce Grove township as the oldest son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Koskela, spending the rest of his life in that community as a farmer.

Preceding him in death were his father in 1930 and his mother in 1936. Surviving him are two brothers, Carl and Edward, and five sisters, Mrs. Eli Makinen (Lydia), Mrs. Carl Haataja (Hilda), Mrs. Orin Jacobson (Elina), Mrs. John Keranen (Esther), and Mrs. Waino Ylitalo (Miriam).
Mr. Koskela's death came two days after he was taken to the hospital. Ill for some time, he was rushed there by ambulance after being found in a coma at his farm.

Note: Emil was known to suffer from Diabetes.
