In 1879 Mr. Larson was one of the early settlers in Kingsbury County, locating on a homestead up in Badger township, where he lived until moving to Lake Preston some three years ago. He was a very hard worker on the farm and through life. He was well broken down in health before deciding to move to town and take the balance of his life easy.
He raised a large family of children, all of whom are grown to maturity. He had accumulated considerable property and had built a nice convenient home here in which to enjoy his old age. But, alas, it was willed otherwise. His stomach seemed to cause him much pain and, late last fall, an investigation proved that he was afflicted with cancer of the stomach. For months he has been wasting away, feeling good and eating well at times, but in much pain and able to keep nothing on his stomach at other times. The aged wife and all the children have the health-felt sympathy of all in their sorrow.
Funeral services were held at the Lutheran Church on Saturday, and burial took place in the Lake Preston Cemetery.
