Gustav F. Larson, former resident of Minot and Douglas, died Saturday in an Albuquerque hospital on December 20, 1958. Mr. Larson had lived in Minot, ND from 1949 to 1954 and prior to that time resided in the Douglas community, where he had farming interests.

He was born Nov. 15, 1876 at Preston, Fillmore Co., MN, and his family moved to Lake Preston, SD, where he spent his early years. He married Mary M. Retterath on April 12, 1904, at Lidgerwood, ND. They lived for five years at Sisseton, SD, and for five years as homesteaders at Redcliff, Alberta, Canada, before moving to the Douglas, ND community. Mr. Larson was a member of the Odd Fellows, Eagles and Modern Woodmen lodges, and during his years in farming was active in promoting 4-H club work. Mrs. Larson died Nov. 2, 1954.

He is survived by three sons, Leonard R. of Sacramento, CA, Walter W. of Buffalo and Maurice J. of Minot; five daughters, Mrs. Ethel Mae Schatz, Mrs. Margaret DeMulling and Mrs. Vivian Wuttke, all of Albuquerque, Mrs. LeNore Wolfer of Portland, OR, and Mrs. Helen Baldner of Minot; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Edwin of Brookings, SD, Henry of Lake Preston and William of Chicago, IL; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Ostroot of Lake Preston and Mrs. Hilda Hanson of Aberdeen, SD. Two brothers and two sisters preceded him in death.

Funeral services were held in a mortuary at Albuquerque. The body arrived at the Thompson-Larson funeral chapel in Minot Wednesday morning, and funeral services were held there at 1:30 p.m. Friday. Burial was in Rosehill Cemetery.

Not listed below are sons Clifford Mathias (b.6 Feb 1905, Marshal Co., SD; d. aft 1916) and Robert "Leonard" John (b. 24 Oct 1906 ; d. 25 Apr 1987; Sacramento, CA).
