Liebenthal -- Josephine E. Herrman, 87, died Nov. 24, 1988, at Rush County Memorial Hospital, La Crosse.

Born Josephine E. Depperschmidt Sept. 20, 1901, at Liebenthal, she married Andrew Herrman April 26, 1921, at Liebenthal. He died Jan. 12, 1979.

A homemaker, she was a lifetime resident of Rush County. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and the Altar Society, both of Liebenthal.

Survivors: sons, Gilbert C. and Elmer, both of Liebenthal; daughters, Cleopha Leiker, Irene Schmitt, Virginia Andrasek and Theresa Lewis, all of Great Bend, Mary Leiker, Hays, Dorothy Davenport, Liebenthal; brothers, Vincent Depperschmidt, Liebenthal; sisters, Monica Gottschalk, Wichita, Elizabeth Herrman, Independence, Mo., Regina Schaffer, Wichita; 29 grandchildren; 69 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.

Rosary will be 7:30 p.m. today at Janousek Funeral Home, La Crosse. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Liebenthal, Father Jim Kelly. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
