La Crosse -- Frank Depperschmidt, 88, lifelong resident of Liebenthal, died Sunday at his home after a long illness. He was born July 12, 1880 in Liebenthal.

He was married to Rosa Pfeiffer on Nov. 14, 1900 in Liebenthal. She died in 1966.

Survivors a son, Vincent of Liebenthal; four daughters, Mrs. Josephine Herrman of Liebenthal, Mrs. Monica Gottschalk of Wichita, Mrs. Elizabeth Herrman of Independence, Mo., and Mrs. Regina Schaffer of Wichita; a brother, Jacob Depperschmidt of Park, Kan.; and 41 grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Joseph’s Church, Liebenthal. Fr. Eugene Van Sloun will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today in Hoover Funeral Home, La Crosse.
