Liebenthal -- Vincent William Depperschmidt, 67, died Sunday, July 30, 1989 at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Kansas City, Mo.

He was born Aug. 3, 1921 in Liebenthal to Frank and Rosa (Pfeifer) Depperschmidt.

He married Stevana Marie Weigel June 15, 1943 in Hays. She died Oct. 14, 1983.

He was a retired farmer and a lifetime Liebenthal resident. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Liebenthal, and a Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include four sons, Raymond, Lonnie and James, all of Liebenthal, LeRoy of Albert; two daughters, Rita Oborny of Russ Center, Cora Knipp of Victoria; three sisters, Elizabeth Herrman of Independence, Mo., Monica Gottschalk and Regina Schaffer, both of Wichita; 15 grandchildren; one great-grandchild.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Father Eugene P. Kenny officiated; burial was in the church cemetery with military graveside rites.
