Cleopha Elizabeth "Cleo" Leiker, 88, of Great Bend, died July 21 at Great Bend Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born Feb. 5, 1922, at Liebenthal, the daughter of Andrew and Josephine (Depperschmidt) Herrman. She married Aloysius Leiker on Nov. 4, 1941, at Liebenthal. He died April 16, 1980. She was a homemaker and a Great Bend resident since 1951, coming from Hays.
Mrs. Leiker was a member of Prince of Peace Parish at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church and its Altar Society, both of Great Bend.
Survivors include one son, Don Leiker and wife Toni of Great Bend; two daughters, Dolores Leiker of Great Bend and Darlene Dean and husband Bill of Wichita; three sisters, Virginia Andrasek of Great Bend, Mary Leiker of Munjor and Dorothy Davenport of La Crosse; one brother, Elmer Herrman of Liebenthal; 10 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Gilbert Herrman, two sisters, Irene Schmidt and Theresa Lewis, and one great-grandson.
An Altar Society Rosary will be at 4 p.m. Sunday at Bryant Funeral Home, Great Bend, followed by a vigil service at 7 p.m. at the same location. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church, Great Bend, with Father Reginald A. Urban celebrant. Interment will be at the Great Bend Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
