Mrs. W. E. (Ed) Mansfield, beloved mother, died Saturday, April 30, 1960, at her home in Mansfield Park, after a very brief illness. She had been visiting her children, but had come home for a few days stay. She became ill and passed away in her sleep Saturday.

Mrs. Cora Mae Mansfield was born at Pipe Creek on February 27, 1879, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. Buck, and was at the time of her death 81 years, two months, and three days of age. She grew to beautiful young womanhood in the Pipe Creek community and was happily married to W. E. (Ed) Mansfield. To this union was born six sons and four daughters. One son died in infancy and one son, Hayden Mansfield, died on September 6, 1959. Her husband preceded her in death on March 7, 1956.

Survivors include the four sons, Homer Mansfield of Junction, Frank Mansfield, Bruce Mansfield, Bill Mansfield of Bandera; four daughters, Mrs. Earl Davenport of Bandera, Mrs. Jack Vanderveer of Austin, Mrs. C. M. Mayfield of Amarillo, Mrs. Morris Witt of Quemado; one brother, Robert Buck of Bandera; one sister, Mrs. Mayme Buck of Clifton; 13 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, and hundreds of relatives and friends who are deeply grieved at her death.

Funeral services were conducted on May 3, 1960, in Plummer Funeral Home Chapel at 10 o'clock with Rev. J. Manley Reynolds officiating and interment was made in the Bandera cemetery under the direction of Plummer Funeral Home. Pallbearers who carried her to her last resting place were Durward Mayfield, Rhea Mansfield, G. M. McGregor, Lee Wharton, Ray Wyatt and Johnny Faris.

Mrs. Mansfield had lived an active life, though handicapped by deafness. She will live on in the hearts of her children and in the memory of her friends.
