Friends here were deeply grieved to learn of the death of Hayden Mansfield of Cap Rock, New Mexico, a native of Bandera, who died there from a heart attack on September 6, 1959, at the age of 54 years, 4 months, and 22 days.
Hayden Leo Mansfield was born on April 14, 1905, in Bandera, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Mansfield. He grew to young manhood here, attended the public schools and numbered his friends by the hundreds. For a number of years he was employed on the Gallagher Ranch at San Geronimo, but for many years he has resided in West Texas, California, and New Mexico.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Ed Mansfield of Austin; four brothers, Homer Mansfield of Junction, Frank Mansfield, Bruce Mansfield, of Bandera, and Bill Mansfield of Medina; four sisters, Mrs. Chalk Mayfield of Amarillo, Mrs. Morris Witt of Quemando, Mrs. Earl Davenport of Bandera, and Mrs. Jack Vanderveer of Austin; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were conducted Wednesday, September 9, 1959, at Plummer Funeral Home with Rev. David Stewart, pastor of the Bandera Methodist Church, officiating, and interment was made in the Bandera cemetery under the direction of Plummer Funeral Home.
Pall bearers were H. J. Risinger, Rhea Mansfield, G. M. McGregor, E. M. Pue, Lee Wharton and Les Short.
