Amarillo Globe-News, 9 Jul 2008, Joyce "Dolly" Mayfield, 89, of Amarillo died Thursday, July 3, 2008.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday in Kingswood United Methodist Church with the Rev. Buff Hearn officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Blackburn-Shaw Funeral Directors Coulter Chapel, 8310 S. Coulter St.

Joyce was born May 29, 1919, to William and Cora Mansfield in Bandera County. She came to Amarillo when she married in 1940. Joyce was a Girl Scout leader and very active at Kingswood United Methodist Church in choir and as a Sunday school teacher. She was a great mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed by her many nieces and nephews and friends, including her new friends and staff at Seville Estates.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charleton "Chalk" Mayfield in 1982; six brothers; and two sisters.

Survivors include two daughters, Anita Rudder and husband Bobby of Amarillo and Neva Parker and husband Marvin of Gunnison, Colo.; six grandchildren, Jan Berry and husband Jim, Jim Rudder and wife Connie and David Rudder and wife
Summer, all of Amarillo, Wayne Rudder of San Diego and Kim Duncan and husband Kevin and Damon Parker and wife Melissa, all of Gunnison; a sister, Louella Vanderveer of Bandera; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to a favorite hospice.

Viewing will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
