MANHATTAN —
Frank T. Bollig, age 78, of Manhattan, died August 21, 2011, at the Stormont-Vail Healthcare in Topeka.
He was born July 2, 1933, in Hays, Kansas, the son of Frank and Mary (Bascall) Bollig. He graduated from the St. Joseph's Military Academy in Hays.
On May 11, 1957, in Spearville, Kansas, he was married to Sarah "Jane" Tully. Mrs. Bollig preceded him in death on August 18, 2010. He was also preceded in death by his parents and four brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include three children: Stan Bollig of Boise, Idaho, Sara Buller and her husband, Steve, of Ottumwa, Iowa and Jill Sol and her husband, Tony, of Wichita, KS; two sisters: Margaret Hazelton of Lake Havasu, AZ, and Clara Walters of Hays, KS; one brother, Marion Bollig of Hays, KS; and seven grandchildren.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Seven Dolors Catholic Church with Father Joseph S. Popelka as Celebrant. Interment will follow in Sunrise Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 7 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Home. A Christian Wake Service will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Yorgensen-Meloan-Londeen Funeral Chapel.
