She was born May 29, 1920, in Hays to Frank and Mary (Basgall) Bollig. She married Eugene Obholz Jan. 16, 1940, in Liebenthal.
She was a homemaker and a nurse aide at St. Anthony Hospital in Hays for many years. She was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. 18th and Milner.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; a son, Eugene Jr., St. Charles, Mo.; three daughters, Gloria Jean Desch, Hays, Sister Mary Rose Obholz, Webb, Miss., and Marcia Ann File, Beloit; five brothers, Robert "Cap" Bollig, Victoria, Elmer "Cap" Bollig, Plainville, Marion Bollig, Hays, Frank "Horse" Bollig Jr., Manhattan, and Cecil Bollig, Duncan, OkIa.; five sisters, Marcella McCollum, Fort Wayne, Ind., Frances Wooldridge and Clara Walters, both of Hays, and Helen Knowles and Margaret Hazelton, both of Lake Havasau,Ariz.; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by an infant son and a brother, Leonard "John" Bollig.
Services were Monday at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, with Father Don Zimmerrnan officiating; burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.
A memorial has been established for the Parkinson's Foundation, or memorials are suggested for Masses.
