Gahimer Funeral Services Saturday
Widely Known Resident of Blue Ridge Community Passed Away Wednesday
Funeral services for George Gahimer, prominent farmer of the Blue Ridge community, whose death occurred at noon Wednesday following five weeks' illness due to heart trouble, will be held at 10:30 o'clock Saturday morning from the Zion Evangelical church with the Rev. J.W. Dickmann, pastor of the church, officiating. The church services will be preceded by brief rites at the home with the Rev. O.J. McMullen, of this city, in charge. Burial will be at the Zion Evangelical cemetery, with Ezra Carmony, funeral director, in charge. Mr. Gahimer, the son of Mr. and Mrs. William Gahimer, was born Oct. 8, 1872, being at the time of death, sixty-two years, five months, and twenty-six days old. On Nov. 12, 1899, he was united in marriage to Miss Addie Rader. He leaves thirteen sons and daughters, Virgil, Mary, Inez, Daniel, Basil, Leonidas, Dorothy, Gladys, Thelma, Isabelle, and Marjorie Jean Gahimer, all of Blue Ridge: Chester, of Rush county, and Howard, of the state of Montana; a brother, Julius Gahimer, of Rush county, and two half-brothers, Edward Gahimer, of Rush county, and Conrad Gahimer, of near Manilla. For many years, Mr. Gahimer had been engaged in farming in Rush county, moving to the Blue Ridge community about two years ago. He had operated threshing outfits in the community for a number of years and was widely acquainted. He was a member of the Zion Evangelical church and the Red Men's lodge of Homer.
