In 1890, the couple sold their farm and bought another in Fayette County, Kentucky. Mrs. English lived the remainder of her life in that county. She passed away from the effects of chronic nephritis and hemiplegia, complicated by the debilities of old age.
Note: When she was younger, she appeared in most records as Mary. She was enumerated under that given name in the 1870, 1880 and 1900 census. In 1910, she was enumerated as Frances English, in 1920 as M.F. English and, finally, in 1930 she was enumerated as Minerva English. The interment records at Richmond Cemetery and the DC list her name as Minerva English. Her parents are listed correctly on the latter document.
