After she was widowed, Sallie made her home with her son-in-law and daughter, Robert & Sallie Friend Tharp, in Preble County, Ohio. She, then, spent her twilight years as a beloved member of the Burnett household.
•Mrs. Sally D. Friend Dies at Daughter's Home
Mrs. Sally D. Friend, 92, died yesterday afternoon at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Willie Burnett of Smithfield, after a six months' illness. Mrs. Friend had made her home with her daughter for the past sixteen years.
Funeral services will be held at the daughter's home at 10 o'clock tomorrow morning with Virgil Simpson officiating. Burial will be in Bybee Cemetery in Madison County, Ky. The body will be taken from the Parson mortuary to the home of Mrs. Burnett at 7 o'clock this evening.
Survivors besides Mrs. Burnett include three other daughters, Mrs. Minerva Hendrix of Waco, Ky., Mrs. Bessie Tharp of Oxford, O., and Mrs. Sally Tharp of Camden, O.; three sons, George W. Friend of Lakeland, Fla., C.B. Friend of Waco, Ky., and R.C. Friend of Oxford, O.; two sisters, Mrs. Susie Chaney of Irvine, Ky., and Mrs. Ella Garrison of Hamilton, O.; one brother, C.C. Snowden of Marrone, O.; and 31 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren.
