His obituary, forwarded by Dolores Bohn, was in The Louisville Courier-Journal, Monday, 5-16-1983.

"WILLIAM J. McCAULEY, 62, of 2304 Perth Drive, died Saturday at SS. Mary & Elizabeth Hospital.
He was a native of Marion County, a retired superintendent of Wehr Construction Co., an Army veteran of World War II and a member of American Legion Post 220. Survivors include his wife, the former Dorothy Marple; a son, J. Michael McCauley; two daughters, Mrs. Patricia A. Kirschbaum of Kenosha, Wis., and Mrs. Linda S. Bowles of St. Louis; eight brothers, Thomas and Donnie McCauley, both of Wyoming, IL., Elmer, Robert, Earl, Henry, David and Garland McCauley of Loretto; and six grandchildren. The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Denis Catholic Church, 4205 Cane Run Road, with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation at Arch L. Heady Southern Funeral Home, 3601 Taylor Blvd., will be after noon Monday."
