MRS. McCAULEY DIES AT HOSPITAL
Mrs. Mary Lyda Mattingly, 76, wife of Joseph Benedict McCauley of Loretto, died at 10:55 p.m. last Wednesday at Mary Immaculate Hospital, where she was admitted four days earlier. She had been in bad health for three years. A daughter of John Thomas and Mary Alice Cissell Mattingly, she was a native of Fredericktown, but had been a Marion County resident for many years. She was a member of St. Francis of Assisi Church, and of its Altar Society and the Christian Mothers Confraternity. Surviving besides her husband, are a daughter, Miss Louise McCauley, Loretto, and 10 sons, Cyril McCauley, Loretto; Earl, William J., Robert L., Henry F., David A., and Garland McCauley, all of Louisville; Thomas B. and Don G. McCauley of Wyoming, IL., and J. E. McCauley, Lebanon; two sisters, Mrs. Sam Thomas, Raywick, and Mrs. Spalding Lee, Louisville; three brothers, Clell and Felix Mattingly, both of Raywick, and Paul Mattingly, Kewanee, IL., and 22 grandchildren. The body was at Mattingly Funeral Home, Loretto, until 10:30 a.m., Monday when funeral services were conducted at St. Francis of Assisi church at St. Francis. Burial was in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery, Raywick, Ky.
