WYOMING, IL - Donald G. "Mac" McCauley, 81, of Wyoming died at 5:45 a.m. Wednesday, July 1, 2009, at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, IL.

Mac was born July 13, 1927, in Raywick, Ky., the son of Joseph and Mary Mattingly McCauley. He married Cleo Leadley on June 24, 1950, in Toulon. She survives.

Also surviving are three daughters, Cathy (Mike) Breese of Wyoming, Debbie (Dennis) Van DeSampel of Kewanee and Lori McCauley of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three sons, Donald L. (Diane) McCauley and James (Mary) McCauley, both of Wyoming, and Mark (Gloria) McCauley of Bradford; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Garland (Jewel) McCauley of Louisville, Ky.

His parents, one sister and eight brothers preceded him in death.

Mac was a Korean War Army veteran and a member of the Wyoming American Legion Post 91. He owned and operated Mac's Automotive Service in Wyoming for many years, retiring in 1990.

He loved spending time with family at his farm and he also enjoyed bluegrass music.

Cremation has been accorded, and private burial of ashes will be in Wyoming Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday, July 6, 2009, at the Wyoming American Legion Post 91 for a celebration of Mac's life.

Memorial contributions may be made to Wyoming Ambulance Service or Wyoming American Legion Post 91.
