Robert L. "Bob" McCauley Sr., 72, Linda Ave., Lebanon, died at 5 p.m., Nov. 28, 1994, of an apparent heart attack while cutting firewood on a family farm near Lebanon. McCauley was born Feb. 8, 1922 in Raywick. He attended St. Charles High School, was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church, a United States Army Veteran of World War II and a member of V.F.W. Post #5910. He was also a retired truck driver for Seagram's Distillery in Louisville. He was preceded in death by: his parents, Joseph Benedict and Mary Lyda McCauley; seven brothers, Cyril, Bill, Earl, David, Thomas, Henry and Elmer McCauley; and his former wife, Phoebia Glazebrook McCauley. Survivors include: his wife, Cyril Spalding McCauley; four sons, Robert L. McCauley Jr., Joseph G. McCauley, Thomas E. McCauley and Stephen B. McCauley, all of Louisville; one daughter, Janice Meyer of Sellersburg, Ind.; a sister, Catherine Louise McCauley of Lebanon; two brothers, Garland McCauley of Louisville and Donald McCauley of Wyoming, IL.; four stepchildren, Darrell Ray of Hollywood, Calif., Dianne Buechlein of Paris, IL., Elaine Helm of Lebanon and Mary Lou McRay of Springfield; eight grandchildren and six step-grandchildren. Funeral Mass was conducted at 2 p.m., Dec. 1, 1994, at St. Augustine Catholic Church with burial in the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church Cemetery in Raywick. Rev. Ivo Cecil and Rev. Ernie Schumacher officiated. Pallbearers were Robert, Jerry, Tom, Stephen, Scott and Chris McCauley and Paul Meyer. Prayer services were held at 8 p.m., Nov. 31, 1994, at Bosley Funeral Home, Lebanon, which was in charge of the arrangements.
