HEART ATTACK FATAL TO J. McCAULEY
Joseph Cyril McCauley, 57, died at 1:55 P.M. Monday, December 30, at Mary Immaculate Hospital after suffering a heart attack at Abell-Dever Motor Company, where he had been employed three years. Mr. McCauley, who had retired from Joseph E. Seagram and Son Distillery at St. Francis, was a native of Raywick, born November 2, 1911, a son of the late Joseph Benedict and Mary Lyda Mattingly. He was a member of the Holy Name Society of St. Francis of Assisi Church. Survivors include his widow, Lillian Thompson McCauley, a sister, Miss Louise McCauley, Loretto, and nine brothers, Tom B. and Don G. of Wyoming, IL., Elmer, Charles Earl, William B., Robert L., Henry F., David A. and A. Garland, all of Louisville. The body was at Mattingly Funeral Home, where the Rosary was recited at 8 P.M. Tuesday. The Rev. William A. Spalding conducted the funeral at 11:30 A.M. Wednesday at St. Francis of Assisi Church.

Joseph "Cyril" and Lillian Thompson McCauley had no children. Lillian Thompson McCauley later remarried Martin Blandford.
