Son of J. Elmer and Mae C. (Brehany) Smith died at the Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines. He married Hilma Lorena Rose in Boone Iowa, on the 16 Jan 1927. He was an auditor for the Holiday Inn Corporation.

Preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and four sisters. Surviving are his wife; brothers, Joseph of Ipswich, S.D., Elmer of Belmond, Ia. and Edward of Vacaville, California; sisters, Catherine Miller of Des Moines and Ruth of Davenport; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held at the Schroeder Funeral Home with the Rev. Richard Goins officiating.
