Survivors include his widow, Minnie; 2 sons, Jack Jr. and James, both of Boone; 2 daughters, Mrs. Bob (Wilma)Carlson, and Mrs. Margaret Kardell, both of Boone; 6 brothers, Clarence of Oregon, Thomas E. of Boone, Virgil of Des Moines, Joseph of South Dakota, Elmer of Belmond, Iowa, Edward Smith of California; 5 sisters, Mrs. Olive Vaughn and Mrs. Catherine Miller of Des Moines, Mrs. Eva Smith of Boone, and Mrs. Ruth Kost and Mrs. Lena Stout of Davenport; and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services held Wednesday, June 19, at the Schroeder Funeral Home with the Rev. Scott Holmes in charge.
