Alva Ray Long was a son of Napoleon
Bradford Long and Sarah Elizabeth
'Bohannon.' Alva Ray was the grandson
of Maples Long and Mahala 'Atchley'
Long.Also Henry Bohannon and Amanda
'Garrett' Bohannon.

He was a member of the Baptist Church
and on Feb. 15, 1902, he was married
to Nellie Michener.
They lived in Boone County, Arkansas
for many years, and at one time lived
in Texas. They then moved to
Hugo and raised their family.

It is my belief that my father,
Alva Ray Long (Ray A. Long) was
a namesake?
Dad's father, Rev.Isaiah Henry
Maples Long was a first cousin
to Alvarado. Napoleon, Alvarado's
father and Rev. Isaiah's father,
Rev. Robert H. Long were brothers.
Several of their children were
named after one another.
The families were very close.
