11, 1887 in Boone County, Arkansas.
Arthur was the son of Napoleon Bradford
Long and Sarah Elizabeth 'Bohannon' Long.
He was the grandson of Maples Long and
Mahala 'Atchley' Long. Also Henry Bohannon
and Amanda 'Garrett' Bohannon, all of Arkansas.
Arthur was married in Prague, Lincoln Co.,
Oklahoma to Anna 'Stovall.' They were
married on September 12, 1908, in
Pottawatomie County, Oklahoma. They were
married by E.D. Reason, County Judge.
Present as witness' were Arthur's two
brothers, George E. Long and Malty E.
Long. He was a member of the Christian
Church. The couple had 4 children:
Ruby Irene
Lillie Iba
Alford Carlise
Wayne Harold
Arthur was a Railroad worker.
He died in the hospital in Phoenix.
Arthur died at 8:35 a.m. on May 26,
1921,from Tuberculosis he had suffered
with for about two years. He had taken
ill with it in Prague, then moved to
the climate in Arizona, thinking it
would help his health. His daughter,
Lillie 'Long' Morgon was the informant
on Arthur's death certificate.
However, she reported his father,
Napoleon Bradford Long, was born in
Arkansas, this is not correct, Napoleon
was born in Sevier Co., Tennessee. Also,
Arthur was born in 1887 according to family
records, his tombstone also has this date.
His death cert. records it as 1888, which
isn't correct.
Arthur signed his Service Registration as
Arthur Carlie, but the family states it was
Arthur Carlisle Long. Anna later remarried
a man by the surname Martin.
My thanks to the volunteer to filled my
photo request of Arthur's tombstone.
