of Napoleon Bradford Long and Sarah
Elizabeth 'Bohannon' Long. She was the
granddaughter of Maples Long and Mahala
'Atchley' Long. Also Henry Bohannon and
Amanda 'Garrett' Bohannon.
She moved to Colorado Springs, Co., seeking
to benefit her health in 1920. During this
time she met and married Harry R. Pugh.
They were married on Oct. 31, 1923 in
Colorado Springs, by Rev. C. A. Fulton
of Colorado Springs.
The couple had one child, a son, Richard
Eura, born April 15, 1929. Records posted
states Richard later went to school in
California and it appears he stayed in
California.
On the 1930 Census taken on April 2nd.,
the couple lived at 1338 N. Prospect
in Colorado Springs, El Paso Co., Co.
Original Obit:
Nellie was an active member of the First
Baptist Chruch in Colorado Springs. She
died at her home on Sunday, Dec. 22 and
she was buried on Tuesday, Dec. 24, 1940.
Her services were held at the Swan drawing
room, at 3:30 in the afternoon. The Rev.
J. H. Skeen, pastor of the First Baptist
Church of the city, officated. She was
survived by her husband, Harry and her
only child, her son, Richard Eura of
Colorado Springs.
NOTE: She is listed as Mellie Marcella
'Long' Pugh by family. She is also listed
on her marriage license as Marcella M.
Long Pugh. However on her original obit
from the Colorado Springs Gazette, she is
listed as Mrs. 'Nellie' Marcella Pugh.
Mellie had been listed and 15 tokens left
for her on the memorial page I placed
sometime back. I had posted a request
about her and her family in El Paso
Co., Colorado. I was sent the new
information on her and her family and
her obit.
I have deleted the first memorial page
and now will continue to take care of her
original page. I also connected her to
her husband and parents.
My thanks to Ron for taking her tombstone
picture and placing it on her memorial
page.
