Mrs. Elta Knoll, 89, Iberia, died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 1982, at Osage Manor Nursing Home in Eldon.

She was born Sept. 3, 1892, at Iberia to Benjamin and Cynthia Dial Williams. May 16, 1926, she was married to Adolph Knoll, who died Oct. 1, 1972.

A graduate of Drury College in Springfield, Ms. Knoll worked as a bacteriologist until retiring in 1960 from Presbyterian Hospital in Chicago.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Anne Nixon, Manhattan Island, N.Y.; a brother, Dale Williams, Pueblo, Colo.; six sisters, Mrs. Edna Irwin and Mrs. Evelyn Johnson, Iberia, Mrs. Ethel Muirhead, Salt Lake City, Utah, Mrs. Betty Morgan, Tuscumbia, Mrs. Emma Gardner, Kansas City, and Mrs. Edith Meyer, Moses Lake, Wash.; and a granddaughter, Mrs. Cynthia Nixon, Manhattan.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Stevinson-Mossman Funeral Home with the Rev. Earl Basil Brown officiating. Burial was in the Williams Cemetery near Iberia.
