Mrs. Benjamin Williams, one of Miller county's highly esteemed women, died at the Wallace Hospital in Lebanon last Friday morning, where she had been a patient for several days. She was the mother of twelve fine children, ten of whom are living, but scattered over different parts of the nation.

The body was brought here to the Adams & Casey Funeral Home and prepared for burial, and Sunday morning at 10:30 o'clock, funeral services were held from the Williams home west of Iberia. The services were conducted by Dr. G. Byron Smith of the Iberia Junior College from which institution most of the Williams children graduated.

Mrs. Cynthia Ann Dial Williams, 76 years old, died Friday morning at the Wallace Memorial Hospital in Lebanon. She had been in ill health two years, and for the last year had suffered from recurrent heart attacks.

Mrs. Williams was a native of Miller County, having been born Sept. 24, 1866, only a few miles away from her home the last several years. In 1889, she was married to Benjamin Williams who survives her.

To this union were born 12 children, ten of whom are living. There are three sons, Wade Williams, Iberia, Adron Williams, Reading, Kansas, and Dale Williams, Jasper, Mo. Seven daughters, Mrs. A. O. Knoll of Chicago, Ill., Mrs. R.W. Irwin of New York City, Mrs. L. J. Ericson of St. Louis, Mrs. R. M. Muirhead of Salt Lake City, Utah, Mrs. M.G. Meyer of Edinburg, Texas, Mrs. R.V. Johnson of El Campo, Texas and Mrs. G.E. Gardner of Kansas City.

Two sons, Otto and Ora Williams, preceded their mother in death. Also, there are 24 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Williams spent a full life in the typical American way, raising her large family and sending them into various parts of the country. Her daughters and sons and their families attest the great success of Mrs. Williams's life as wife and mother.

Besides her immediate family, Mrs. Williams is survived by a brother, Ellsworth Dial of Eugene, Ore., two half-brothers, Emerson and Allison Dial, both of Guthrie, Okla., and a half-sister, Mrs. William Moore of Texarkana, Tex.

Funeral services were held at 10:30 o'clock Sunday morning, April 18, at the home. The service was read by Dr. G. Byron Smith of the Iberia Junior College in the presence of the family and friends who came to pay their final respects to an honored lady who had spent a lifetime in the Iberia community and whose passing will leave a gap in her wide circle of friends that will be difficult to fill.

Among those from elsewhere who attended the service were Miss Edith Meyer of Kansas City, Mr. Milburn Meyer of Edinburg, Tex., Mr. and Mrs. R.H. Eades of Kansas City, Mrs. Dale Williams of Jasper, Mo., and Mr. L. J. Ericson of St. Louis.

Burial was made in the Williams Cemetery near her home.
