He was the paternal grandson of David & Temperance Honeycutt of Wake County.
John married Aley "Allie" Alien Pool, daughter of Calvin Pool and his (3rd) wife Elizabeth "Betty" Jones, on November 19, 1890, when he was almost 24 years old, and she 22.
The couple farmed in the St. Mary's area and would become parents to 5 known children, all daughters: Myrtle Vay (1891), Kate Elizabeth (1893), Agnes Alien (1895), Ruby Lee (1902), and Emma Doris (1906).
John died in 1955 at about age 89. His wife of 65 years survived another year, and passed in 1956 at about age 88.
Daughter Emma Doris Honeycutt married Herbert Lane Arnold, Jr, and is buried here.
