She was about age 22 in 1913 when she married 26-year old Moses E. Powell of St. Mary's, who worked as an agent and telegraph operator for the railroad.
The couple lived in Auburn and were parents to 6 known children (3 boys/3 girls): Frances "Fannie" B. (c. 1914), Edna V. (c. 1915), Elizabeth E. (c. 1916), Ira W. (c. 1920), Samuel E. (c. 1923), and Dewey L (c. 1925).
Myrtle Vay died young in 1930. She was only 38 years old. Her husband of 17 years survived another 41 years, passing in 1971 at age 83.
