Thank you, Lord, for Dear William. Mr. William Andy Patterson was born on February 12, 1893, in Center, Mississippi. He was the oldest child of Will and Roxie Patterson.

He accepted Christ as his personal Saviour at an early age when he became a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church where he served faithfully.

In the year 1914, he was united in marriage to the late, Corrine Brantly. To this union 12 children were born, 2 of which preceded him in death.

In the year 1936, he was united in marriage to Lille Lovelace Hicks. To this union 7 children were born, one of whom preceded him in death. During this period of life, he united with the Church of God at Center, Mississippi where he served as Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher, State Secretary of the Church of God, and many other duties as was needed for the upbuilding of the Kingdom of God.

On November 2, 1973, he became ill and after a brief illness, he departed this life on November 6 at 3:00 P. M. at Montfort Jones Memorial Hospital.

He leaves to mourn a loving wife, Lillie; 16 children, Lawrence Patterson, Otis Patterson, Odessa Patterson, Leoda Brookshire of Milwaukee, WI; Denovia Austin and Eugene Patterson of Chicago, IL; Otha Patterson and Huston Patterson of Oklahoma City, OK; Birdia Mae Oliver of Muskegon, MI; Sgt. Lucius Patterson of Fort Benning, GA; Sgt. Will Patterson of Germany; Ollie Patterson and Mervene Patterson of Los Angeles, CA; Ethel Lee Lewis of Jackson, MI; 3 step-children, Evelyn Durr of Chicago, IL; Ernestine Haynes of Milwaukee, WI; Johnny Hicks of Fort Dixon, NJ; 4 sisters, Mary Wilson of Milwaukee, WI; Roxie Meredith, Caroline Nash, Hattie Whittington of Kosciusko, MS; 5 brothers, Harvey, Gary, IN; Esau, of Chicago, IL; Saul, Los Angeles, CA; Arthur, Milwaukee, WI; Bennie of Los Angeles, CA; 56 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends. Children omitted above are Zenobia Nash and Helen Jones of Milwaukee, WI.
