He married Erma Scott Holland on 9 July 1943. They moved to Los Angeles in 1950 and had a daughter, Geralyn.
Solomon was a long-time employee for the Beverly Hills school system and eventually retired from there.
He died on May 2, 1995, in Los Angeles.
