Steve Thomas Biggers, 83, of Kilmichael, died of heart failure Friday, March 6, 1998, at Monfort-Jones Hospital in Kosciusko.
Mr. Biggers, the retired owner and operator of Steve's Hardware, was a member of Kilmichael United Methodist Church. He was treasurer of the church for 25 years; on the Board of Directors for Bank of Kilmichael for 27 years; was a member of the Kilmichael Lions Club; on the ASCS Board of Directors for 12 years and was a member of the Kilmichael Hospital Board of Directors for 20 years. He was also a cattleman, tree farmer, a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and a member of the Kilmichael VFW. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Steve Lory Biggers.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 8, at Kilmichael Methodist Church with burial in Friendship Cemetery.
Mr. Biggers is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ruth Huffman Biggers of Kilmichael; three daughters, Margaret Biggers Barham of Brandon, Janice Ruth Biggers of Eufala, Ala., Gloria Huffman Biggers of Madison; one son, Steve Thomas Biggers, Jr. of Louise; three sisters, Rachael Chandler of Greenwood, Mildred Pittman and Rebecca Thompson, both of Winona; one brother, Allen Biggers of Greenwood; and eight grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Rodney Mortimer, Leon Gatlin, Reggie Surles, Benny Herring, David Eldridge, and Wade Henson.
Oliver Funeral Home of Winona was in charge of arrangements.
