BIOGRAPHY UPDATED on 12 May 23

Thomas Vincent Farrell was born on 19 Apr 1873 in Gilmer County, West Virginia, although his exact birth location is unknown. His parents were Peter Farrell and Anna Cuff, although the spelling is somewhat inconsistent among sources throughout the years, which I attribute to the difficulty in pronouncing and spelling their names. It appears he may have had 8 siblings; Margaret A (m. Craft), Mary C (m. Fitzpatrick), Elizabeth Beatrice (m. Rush), John, Patrick Francis, Anna Gertrude (m. McCudden), Ella Madalene (m. Bohan) and Peter Jr.

According to early census records, he lived with his parents and siblings in Glenville District in Gilmer County, West Virginia. According to the 1880 United States Federal Census taken on 23-24 Jun 1880, they were still living in Glenville District, Gilmer County, West Virginia. At the time, Thomas was 6 years old and lived with his parents, Peter Farrell (43) and Ann (33) and his 5 siblings, Margaret (12), Mary (10), Elizabeth (8), John (4) and Patrick (2). In addition, his maternal grandfather Thomas Cuff (60) also lived with them. It appears sometime before 1898, he may have moved to California. According to the 1900 United States Federal Census taken on 15 Jun 1900 he may have lived as a boarder at the Antone Gilles household on 8th street in Mountain Township, Siskiyou, California. At the time, a Thomas V Farrell was 27 years old and worked as a Saw Mill Laborer. I am assuming this is the same Thomas Farrell. By 1910, he may have moved north into the State of Washington. According to the 1910 United States Federal Census taken on 27 Apr 1910, he may have lived in Elwah, Clallam, Washington. At the time, a Thomas Farrell was 37 years old worked as a Keeper at a Hot Spring Resort. I am assuming this is the same Thomas Farrell. It appears he may have moved back to West Virginia prior to 1920. According to the 1920 United States Federal Census taken on 14 Jan 1920, he was living in Salt Lick, Braxton, West Virginia. At the time, Thomas Ferrell was 48 years old and worked as a teamster in the Glass industry. In 1926-1928 he was listed as living in Weston, West Virginia. It appears he lived in the area until his death in 1933. It appears he never married or had any children.

He passed away on 15 Apr 1933 from a Cerebral Hemorrhage in Court House District of Weston, Lewis County, West Virginia. He was laid to rest on 17 Apr 1933 in Saint Bridget's Church Cemetery in Weston, Lewis County, West Virginia.
