Both Lewis and Gilmer Counties were mentioned in the birth and death records. Based on several credible conflicting records, it is unclear which date and location is correct. Her parents were Peter Farrell and Anna Cuff who are identified in several census records, Birth, and death records. It appears she may have had 8 siblings (Margaret A, Elizabeth Beatrice, Thomas Vincent, John, Patrick Francis, Anna Gertrude, Ella Madalene and Patrick).

According to early census records (1870-1880), she lived with her parents and siblings in Glenville District in Gilmer County, West Virginia. According to the 1870 Census taken on 20 Jun 1870, they lived near Sandfork in Glenville Township, Gilmer County, West Virginia. At the time, Mary was 1 year old and lived with her parents Peter Ferrel *Farrell (35) and Ann (25) and her sister, Margaret (3). According to the 1880 Census taken on 23-24 Jun 1880, they were still living in Glenville District, Gilmer County, West Virginia. At the time, Mary was 10 years old and lived with her parents, Peter Farrell (43) and Ann (33) and her 5 siblings, Margaret (12), Elizabeth (8), Thomas (6), John (4) and Patrick (2). In addition, her grandfather Thomas Cuff (60) also lived with them. After her marriage to Samuel in 1891, it appears they stayed in the area. It is unclear where she was living between the years of 1880-1910. After her marriage to Thomas in 1902 they may have lived in Gilmer County. According to the 1910 census taken on 20 Apr 1910, they lived in Glenville District, Gilmer County, West Virginia. At the time, Mary C Fitzpatrick was 40 years old and lived with her spouse Thomas J Fitzpatrick (48). According to the 1920 Census taken on 21 Jan 1920 , they were still living in Glenville District, Gilmer County, West Virginia where they owned a farm. At the time, Mary was 50 years old and lived with her spouse Thomas J Fitzpatrick (68). Mary lived next door to several of her siblings and their families. According to the 1930 Census taken on 21 Apr 1930, Mary, now widowed, was living with her brothers on their farm in Glenville District, Gilmer County, West Virginia. At the time, Mary Fitzpatrick was 60 years old and lived with her brothers John Ferrel (54) and Pete (44). According to the 1940 Census taken on 2 May 1940 she was still living with her brothers on Rocky Fork Road in Glenville District, Gilmer County, West Virginia. At the time, Mary Fitzpatrick was 67 years old and lived with her brothers John Farrell (65) and Pete (54). It appears she lived in the area until her death in 1947.

Mary married Thomas J Fitzpatrick on 26 Aug 1902 in Allegheny, Pennsylvania. It appears Mary and Thomas did not have any children.

Mary passed away from Chronic Myocarditis on 17 Mar 1947 in Weston, Lewis County, West Virginia. According to her death certificate, she was laid to rest on 19 Mar 1947 in Saint Bridget's Church Cemetery in Weston, Lewis County.
