MRS. ALICE PAGE - Obituary excerpt from the Mankato Free Press; "Mrs. Page was born in Mankato, Aug. 10, 1906, to Frederick and Clara (Hidde*) Holbrook. She married Martin Page in 1924 in Williams Co. ND**; to them were born 10 children, Orville, Ilene, Hazel, Francis, Joyce, Charlotte, Evelyn, Arden, Ronald and Robert. She returned to the Mankato area in 1948, and owned and operated the St. Clair Café in St. Clair for several years. She then worked at various restaurants, including several years as cook at Frederick's Restaurant in downtown Mankato in the early 1960's before the Frederick brothers founded the first of the Happy Chef Restaurants. She retired to Hastings, and later to Spokane, WA, where she lived when she entered the Hillcrest Healthcare Center in 1983. She was a member of the VFW Auxiliary of Post 950, and the St. Johns Catholic Church."
Note 1: *Alice's mother, Clara Louise's maiden name was Bruggeman; her grandmother, Clara A.'s maiden name was Hidde.
