Janesville resident, Paul F. Holbrook, age 88, died Thursday, February 5, 2004, at Immanuel-St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.
Paul was born October 9, 1915 in Williams County, ND to Roy F. and Clara [Bruggeman] Holbrook. On April 3, 1940, Paul married Doris A. Benning in Mason City, Iowa. He served in the US Army Artillery from 1944 to 1946 and during his working career Paul was self employed and worked as a carpentry contractor. Paul was an outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and Janesville American Legion Post #218.
He is survived by his wife, Doris of Janesville; two sons, Paul V. [Barb] of Slayton, and Douglas and special friend, Charlotte Wheeler of Brainerd; 6 grandchildren, Thomas [Peg], Michael, Richard [Dawnette], Nicklas, Taya Dewitt [Bob], and Amy [Mike Furth] Holbrook; 9 great grandchildren, Zachary, Jacob, Lucas, Shawn, Nathan, Richard, Chantal, Justice, and Gracie; 1 daughter in law, Joann Holbrook; two sisters, Mabel Krenik of LeCenter, and Alma Osmundson of Ely, NV and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 sisters; 3 brothers; and one son Ronald L. Holbrook.
