Barzilla Lawson Benham, 66 of 6711 Ttiangle Drive, Louisville; died Sunday at General Hospital, Louisville. He was a native of Brandenburg, Kentucky and was a retired maintenance foreman for Louisville Gas & Electric Company.

He was born December 25, 1895 a son of George Presley Benham and Alice Wardrip Benham. Mr. Benham was a member of Parkwood Methodist Church, Louisville, Kentucky.

He is survived by his wife Mrs. Mamie Harrington Benham; children, Mrs. Peggy Stice, Mrs. J.C. Thomas, Leon, Gerald, Janice and Lucille Benham of Louisville; Ray Benham of Concord, California; Mrs. Hazel Sheffield of Dayton, Ohio; Mrs. R.L. Gray of Franklin, Virginia. He is also survived by three sisters, Mrs. Hattie Chappell of Irvington, Kentucky; Mrs. Roxie Brown and Mrs. Ethel Harrington of Brandenburg; three brothers, Pete and Paul of Brandenburg, and Lloyd Benham of Texas.

Funeral services were held at Bethel Methodist Church, conducted by Rev. D.N. Crenshaw. Burial in the Bethel Church Cemetery. Pallbearers were Lloyd Benham, Paul Benham, Pete Benham, Jimmy Thomas, R.L. Gray and Walton Stice.
