Mamie Catherine Harrington Benham, 88, Louisville, died October 30, 2000, at her residence. She was born March 26, 1912, the daughter of George D. Harrington and Polly Mae Cundiff Harrington.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Barzilla L. Benham.

Mrs. Benham is survived by seven children, Hazel Sheffield of Lexington, Peggy Stice, Leon Benham, Lucille Samuels, Janice Priddy all of Louisville, Gertrude Gray of Johnsonville, South Carolina, and Gerald Benham of Shepherdsville; a step-daughter, Mary Alice Thomas of Louisville; a sister, Dolly Entrican of Louisville; 23 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held from Bethel United Methodist Church with Rev. Dee Murphy officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery, directed by Hager Funeral Home.
