Brandenburg Station (Special) George P. Benham was born November 22, 1864, died July 30.1936 He was 71 years, 7 months, and 7 days old.

He was united in marriage to Alice Wardrip August 3, 1889 and to this union 13 children were born, four of them have preceded him in death. He united with the Methodist church at the age of 16 years and a short time ago he was reestablished in his Christian experience left a testamony that he was prepared to meet his Master. He was a loving husband and father, he made friends everwhere he went and was greatly loved by his family.

He leaves to mourn his passing, his wife Mrs. Alice Benham, five sons: James, of Elizabeth. Ind., Barzil and Paul, of Louisville, Pete and Lloyd of Brandenburg; four daughters, Mrs. Lorena Chappell of Irvington. Mrs. George Brown. Mrs. Nellie Springate and Miss Ethel Benham of Brandenburg; sixteen grand children, one sister, Mrs. C.E. Stulz of Waverly Hill, three brothers. Elisha Benham of Brandenburg, Pete Benham of Houston, Texas. Almond Benham of Louisville and a host of other relatives and friends to mourn his going. Funeral services were conucted by his pastor, Rev. Colmore Lyons. He was laid to rest in the M. E. Cemetery by the side of a daughter. Many beautiful flowers covered the mounds where they were sleeping.
