Roxie May Brown, 94, of Radcliff, formerly of Meade County, died Sept. 25 at her residence.

She was born in Meade County, on May 3, 1904, the daughter of the late George Presley Benham and Alice Melinda Wardrip Benham.

Mrs. Brown was a retired secretary from Enro Shirt Company in Louisville. She was the oldest member of Bethel. United Methodist Church and had served as Sunday School Superintendent for over 20 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Brown and two grandchildren, Donna Faye Brown and Robert Ray Brown, and twelve brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Brown is survived by 3 children, Linda Cole and Norma Helen Meeks, both of Radcliff, and Robert L. Brown of Brandenburg. She is also survived by twelve grandchildren, David Lloyd Brown and Melinda Ellen Page, both of Brandenburg, Gene Miller of Rockport, Ind., Wesley Miller, Barry Cole, Taylor Meeks, and Gary Meeks of Owensboro, Bruce Cole of Indianapolis, Bryan Cole, Richmond, Baywood Cole, Dallas, Robbie Meeks, Louisville, and Norma Lee Yarberry,Elkhorn, and 9 great-grandchildren.

The funeral services were held 2 p.m.,Sept. 28 from Bethel United Methodist Church with Rev. Garry Jones officiating and interment at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The funeral was directed by Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Bruce Cole, Barry Cole, Bryan Cole, Baywood Cole, Gary Meeks, Taylor Meeks, Lloyd Brown, and Gene Miller. Honorary pallbearers were Melinda Page and Norma Lee Yarberry.
